Maddy's Career Timeline
2010 - 2013
Ages 4 - 7
My basketball career began. I was the only female on my first team, the Glenarden Bulldogs. Later, I switched and began playing with Beltway Lady Cougars. Additionally, I began participating in a county basketball league run by PG County, Maryland, called the Upper Marlboro Mustangs.
2010 - 2013
2014
Age 8
Basketball became more serious; I went to a Team Takeover workout and loved it. In the spring of 2014, I joined the fifth-grade team (as a third-graded).
2017 - 2020
Ages 11 - 14
- As AAU picked up, I attended various showcases and camps.
- I began playing in the PYBL with the Southern Maryland Cardinals in the fifth grade (when I was 11 years old). My middle school team (National Christian Academy) traveled to South Carolina to compete in a high school tournament, where we Won the championship.
- Represented Team Takeover in the Made Hoops Championship game in both my 7th and 8th grade AAU basketball seasons.
2017 - 2020
2021
Age 15
- 2020 was a challenging year for all sports due to COVID 19. It was my first year of high school @ Bishop McNamara and our season was cut short, and we only played five games.
- I received an invitation to the USA Trials, but tore my ACL in our season's final game, keeping me out for 10 months.
- I had surgery on March 2021, participated in pre-habilitation for a month to prepare my body for challenging circumstances.
- My most important months were the first few. Physical therapy was challenging. It was tough to watch my team play all summer during the AAU season.
- I played my first game back on December 19 in Phoenix at the Nike Tournament of Champions. Being back on the court was wonderful! I spent the first few weeks on minute restrictions until I was comfortable and fully ready to go.
